Neighborhood Highlights
Brewerytown sits immediately northwest of Philadelphia’s Art Museum neighborhood. Historically it was home to many of Philadelphia’s breweries that were located along the Schuylkill River. Today, however, it’s home to a growing number of young professionals, artists, and influencers who enjoy living in this up-and-coming community.
Fairmount Park forms Brewerytown’s western border and provides plenty of opportunities for recreation and relaxation. To the east (toward Center City) are popular destinations for fun, food, and entertainment including the North Star Bar, Mugshots Coffeehouse, Butters, and more. Many are located directly on West Girard Avenue, which forms Brewerytown’s main commercial corridor. Center City is accessible, too. Brewerytown is well served by SEPTA’s bus and trolley routes.
Homes in Brewerytown remain affordable and reflect the community’s unique past. Red brick row homes are prominent, and complemented by condo conversions and new construction.
