About Kensington

Kensington is uniquely situated in Philadelphia. It’s close to Fishtown and not too far from Northern Liberties.

Geographically, well, that’s debatable, but many say it’s bounded by Erie Avenue to the north, Front Street (and sometimes Fifth Street) to the West and Trenton Avenue to the East. (That could be because Kensington has it’s own little enclaves—East Kensington and Olde Kensington among them.)

The entire area comprises historic rowhomes mixed with turn-of-the-century warehouses. New restaurants, artist live/work spaces, new condos and homes, do-it-yourself renovations, and loft conversions all make Kensington home to a diverse community. Philadelphia natives, newcomers, and many first-time buyers have embraced Kensington for its diversity and affordability. Great access to the Market Frankford line makes the neighborhood close to anywhere in Center City, helping it continue to attract interest and investment.
